Are you like a lot people, do you go to a job everyday
that you really don’t enjoy? I believe its not just depressing, its wrong. And staying there is morally wrong.
[If you really love your job, then you are exception. Congrats!]
I just don’t buy into this notion that one should work all of their life in a job they don’t like and put off doing what they love until they retire. But, if you are like me, that’s exactly where you are today. But you get to decide where you’ll be tomorrow, no one else. Sorry, but that’s the truth of it. Is all on you, good or bad.
I have come to the firm belief (finally) that man is not supposed to “endure” a lifetime of jobs, but to live and experience the world. I think we were meant to interact with as many people as possible and to visit as many different areas of the world as we can manage to visit.
We are part of this globe for a reason, and I believe meeting people from different backgrounds and experiencing different cultures will truly make one rich. Rich with understanding, perspective and tolerance for others. To me that’s living!
Are you really living? Don’t feel bad, I’m right there with you. But I’m gonna change my future, and I want to encourage you to do the same. Maybe you don’t want to travel, but whatever ‘it’ is that you want out of life, you have make it happen.
Think about how to begin to change your situation. Its taken you a long time to build these ideas of what is normal, and its going to take time to change your life. But if you don’t start now, you will in the same situation 2 – 3 years from now.
The very first thing you need to do is make a real conscious decision to change your future. Next you need a definite actionable plan.
My future involves traveling and being a full time travel photographer/writer. If you want to something similar, stick with me here at traveldrivenlife.com and I’ll share with you how I’m going to do it, and encourage you too.
Oh and my current job, in my mind is now temporary. I don’t have a specific date yet, but I will leave it one day, hopefully soon. You can too.
To stay otherwise, would just be wrong.
